The pumpkin is everyone's favorite cucurbit come Halloween time, and while there are only a few types of Halloween-friendly pumpkins out there, there is definitely no shortage of what you can do with them.
I don't know what I've been doing in the past when it comes to carving pumpkins, but usually they last a little while. For some reason, the pumpkins we carved this year lasted only two days before they became almost completely engulfed in mold and pumpkin juice. Maybe our apartment isn't suitable for carved pumpkins. I was hoping they'd last until Halloween, but I got to say these pumpkins are way creepier once nature took its course.
The subject at hand takes the prize for the best girl costume of 2009. Classy, pretty, and comic book related. Check out this Roy Lichtenstein-esque makeup job. Amazing.
Give your ghoulish guests on Halloween a realistic spooky display of a head speaking inside a magic crystal ball. To make this even creepier, the talking head is the ghostly Madame Leota from Walt Disney's Haunted Mansion. To recreate this Halloween decor, you'll need a flatscreen TV, glass bowl, DVD player, a DVD of Leota's incantation, fake snakes, and some fabric.
Spiders are my least favorite thing in the world. My second least favorite thing are cheap umbrellas. So, it's only fitting that the two work perfectly together as a creepy Halloween prop.
Your scary thoughts create negative feelings just like a witch offering a poison apple, and your front door will look so tempting with this poisoned Halloween wreath!
Used Venetian Statue Costume, stone-spray painted wings, and lots of make up & silver hair spray to complete the look for my Doctor Who Weeping Angel Costume!
Stay off the streets, lock your doors and grab your shotguns, because zombies are infecting the world over. Well… this Halloween season anyway. With the return of The Walking Dead to AMC a couple weeks ago and the subsequent renewal of a third season, it just goes to show that the undead cannot be killed.
TANK DOG!!! Most hilarious costume I've seen this year. YouTube user darkbluedrew won first place at their local Petsmart's Howl-o-ween costume contest.
Internet famous pumpkin carver Ray Villafane recently nabbed the world record for carving the world's largest pumpkin. Inhabitat attended the carving event, held at the New York Botanical Garden, and captured some great photos. The pumpkin weighs in at 1818.5 pounds!
Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and Sleeping Beauty are some of the most horrific fairy tales ever written, but over the course of nearly 200 years they've become watered down and sugar coated for innocent children everywhere. The original tales by the Brothers Grimm are virtually opposites of how we know them today, because they were never really intended for unsullied youngsters. The folk tales came from storytellers across the German countryside, recounting the terrors they've heard over...
There's nothing like a great horror movie to really get the adrenaline pumping during the Halloween season. I don't know about you, but the sight of blood dripping into a pool of even more blood creeps me out, so you can imagine my reaction to harrowing creatures that go bump in the night and rip people's faces off. It's intense, but I love it.
